One last thing I want to mention is the balance of items overall. I also want to mention that the free battle, where I can fight with 8 characters in total (or 7 in Titan mode) is a hell lot of fun too (especially with the maximum size Titan, holy hell that is hilarious and epic), but does not provide the meaningful progression that the singleplayer campaign provides with its 10 stages. Starts with fighting 1 on 1, ends with an epic battle against 2 titans, with all sorts of 1 on 1, 2 on 1, 3 on 1 combinations in between. The singleplayer campaign is great, as it provides a clear set of scenarios with a clear beginning and a clear end. So, overall so far I'm saying that the moment-to-moment action is awesome, while the metagame suffers with the forced attempt to prolong the game's lenght. Its about trying to give meaning to winning battles and somewhat force players to play the game longer, considering the fear that stems from knowing how limited the content and the simple scope of the game is at hand. I see what the intention behind the original unlocking system is (and the added upgrade system too), or atleast what I think it is. The recently added upgrade system also feels strange, arbitrary and confuses immersion, as upgrading a weapon now shifts the stats of the weapon, which causes the effect of loosing cohesion what is considered as a standard, a base-line relatable consistency that makes it relatable for a human being to intuitively understand how weapons are balanced overall.īesides that, the stat upgrades are somewhat minimal and are limited to a very tight range of values, further reinforcing the loss of consistency of weapon and armor stat balance, while again, also feeling pointless in the end too. Meanwhile, having 99 keys after unlocking/upgrading everything further makes the entire system feel all the more pointless in the end. ![]() I don't care much for the unlock/upgade system and think it somewhat detracts the focus from the intrinsic fun of the combat. ![]() Dismembering, landing a hit, dodging attacks, bloodsprays and the slowmo is really satisfying from moment to moment. I've played it over probably 40 times through, with different loadouts, sometimes winning and sometimes losing. The singleplayer mode is a blast to play, I enjoy the short 10 level campaign that I can wind-off on in between work to have some condensed fun on demand.
